Hello Everyone

Haven't posted since early December. Daughter and grandchildren came over from Spain on the 7th December, stayed a week and I never really got time to look on the forum, then husband and myself flew back to Spain with them on the 12th and stopped until last Saturday.

Had a lovely time but very, very tiring.

The weather was terrible, rain, rain and more rain. We had a few sunny days but when it rained it rained. Power cuts, rivers of rain running down roads, winds that even bent over a metal road sign at the end of the street where Julie lives. Spectacular thunder and lightning. Daughter Karen came over for a week on Christmas Eve, she was worried about the snow and getting to the airport OK. I didn't tell her about the storms we were having, she said that the landing was terrible, but on speaking to a lady over the road from Julies, her mother the day before had to go down the emergency slide at Malaga airport because her plane got struck by lightening, so a bumpy landing was nothing in comparison.

Anyway we got back home despite the snow over here. I'm not too good on the Ra side of things. I did mention before I stopped posting last year that I was going to have a steroid injection to tide me over Christmas, well stupid me cancelled it and what with the extra work of looking after the grandchildren, Julies house being very, very damp with the weather and me having to cope with two flights of stairs to our bedroom in the attic (we live in a bungalow and I don't do stairs), everything took its toll on me. Luckily, when we got back a letter was waiting inviting me to make an appointment with the Consultant, I rang up first thing last Monday morning to make the appointment, I was at first offered an appointment the beginning of Feb. I asked if there was one sooner and was offered one for the next day, so I went yesterday and was given a steroid injection. The consultant thinks that my pain is muscular and not related to the RA. Don't know if he's right. If I get time I will put up a post about it asking for advice on what he told me.

Anyway, thats me done for the moment.

Just like to wish everyone a belated Happy and Pain Free New Year.

I've got loads to catch up on, so hopefully I will get up to speed soon. (Once my shoulders/arms stop hurting so much).

Love to you all

Hi Paula

Welcome home to snowy GB!

I know how much you will have enjoyed being with the children but yes, it is very tiring and what with the weather and the two flights of stairs, I'm not surprised you are shattered.

Let's hope the depo kicks in soon - rest up for a couple of days so that it has a good chance of working well.

Take care - looking forward to catching up.

Love Jeanxxxx

Hi Paula,

Welcome back, and a very Happy New Year! I`m sorry the extra effort has caught up with you - we always seem to have to "pay" for our pleasure.

Hope the depo works its magic and you soon feel better.

Take care,

Kathleen x

Glad that you are home safe and sound Paula. Weather in Spain sounds dramatic! Two flights of stairs! Ouch! Rest up after your depot so that you get some good out of it.

Thank you all for your posts welcoming me back to Snowy England.

I've been emailing Julie in Spain, telling her about the snow.

Guess What? She reckons that snow is better than rain, yes it's still raining there. According to her you don't get wet when it snows like you do in the rain.

Silly Girl...........at least you can walk in the rain without the risk of falling and breaking your leg. Scared Scared
